Seriously this is a wonderful looking story that is brought to life with some truly breathtaking art. This is not exactly what you would call a “new” game and I feel that this is one of the first visual novel style games to really go all-in with its visual style. One of the most notable things about Fate/Stay Night is the overall presentation.

Dealing with a love interest does require you to think about what choices you make as there is an affection meter that you are trying to build up. When a decision does require input from the player/reader, this will often lead to a break in the story and it going in a slightly different direction.

The story has different paths so there is a bit of replay value here. He is part of the Holy Grail War with other mages and along the way, he meets different heroines and has to deal with other mages. By hybrid I mean: partial nudity (no genitals), shorter and less descriptive sex scenes or maybe just fade-to-black, etc.The basics of the story are that there is a mage called Shirou Emiya who is a mage with some serious skills. If eroge studios want to sell on Steam, they either continue to use this system (censored version and full version) or make a hybrid version. Otherwise, they could as well start selling those games I mentioned. And I just can't see Steam (or any other kind of world-wide store) selling non-censored japanese VN's.
For example, I garantee you that we will never see games like rapelay or any other kind of "sex simulator" here on Steam, even though they could be rated +18.Īlthough I also think that VN's are more than just "meet and get laid", most sex scenes (if not all of them) can be over the top, too descriptive and long. They sell things +18 as long their focus is not sex, extreme/over-the-top pointless gore or any kind of ill-natured point. That and its' not like steam lacks age checks for M (or higher) rated stuff.
